Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has officially launched Digital Wallets and SIM card services under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP). This new initiative is an important step toward women empowerment, financial inclusion, and a safe and transparent payment system in Pakistan.
Through digital wallets, BISP women beneficiaries will now receive their payments directly and securely. This system will reduce delays, prevent fraud, and remove the need for long queues or middlemen. The SIM provision will help beneficiaries access digital services easily and stay connected with official BISP updates.
During the launch ceremony, BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid and Secretary Amer Ali Ahmad also spoke about the importance of digital transformation in social welfare programs. They highlighted that technology will make BISP payments more transparent, faster, and more reliable for deserving families.
The government has reaffirmed its commitment to using digital innovation to improve social protection systems. This new step will especially help poor women gain financial independence, better control over their funds, and easier access to government support programs.
This initiative reflects Pakistan’s move toward a modern welfare system, ensuring dignity, safety, and empowerment for millions of BISP beneficiaries across the country.
